I’m sure you’ve seen a ton of teeth whitening products out on the market. If you’re hesitant to try them, we’re right there with you. Not only are many of them costly, there are several that can do a lot of damage to your teeth by ripping away the enamel. We understand that having a yellow tone to your teeth can be a great source of insecurity. However, we don’t suggest using many of the products offered in stores. Instead, why not try some natural ways to whiten your teeth.
Baking soda is one the most common natural ways to whiten your teeth. You can’t replace your toothpaste with baking soda, but you can add it into your routine. Several toothpastes include baking soda in their formula already because of how helpful it is. Just add some baking soda with your toothpaste, and you should start to see results over time.
Another natural whitener is apple cider vinegar. Admittedly, I’m not overly fond of the taste. However, apple cider vinegar does wonders for your teeth as well as your skin. I’ve incorporated apple cider vinegar into my skincare routine and the results are unbelievable. After a short period of time, I noticed that my skin was evening out. I did try drinking it as well for additional benefits, but I didn’t have honey. That made it significantly harder to drink. When using apple cider vinegar to whiten your teeth, use it like you would use mouthwash.
Oil pulling is also a popular means to naturally whiten your teeth. Swish some coconut oil around in your mouth (similar to the apple cider vinegar), and you should start to see results. According to WebMD, “…it’s not a practice based on pseudo-science.” Oil pulling can help with more than just teeth whitening. It’s been proven to help gingivitis and reducing plaque as well.
Preventative measures are also a good option to maintain healthy teeth. Reducing your coffee, wine, and soda intake can help as well. I drink a lot of soda, and I’ve noticed that my teeth have gotten worse for it.
